Do Things Differently

Being human, you are most likely to complain about something in your life. Be it your job, your kids, social media, your man, your weight, your finances, the list is endless. But what are you doing about it? Be that kind of woman who is driven to change her complaints. According to an Australia relationship coach, Amy Worth, the 5th most undesirable quality about a woman is complaining. She also brings up complaining in her “not to do list” on the first date. Now that we know we are not supposed to moan and complain, what are we meant to do?

Relationships:

A vast number of women out there spend hours on the phone complaining about the men they are dating. Not all men are the same, that’s a cliché and generalization that is incorrect. Therefore 2017 should be a year that you need to choose differently. Don’t look for men from the same places you were looking previously. Don’t date the same type of men as before ie. extra good looking and Dwayne Johnson biceps etc. Choose differently. Hangout in different environments. Biceps don’t love you, the heart does. Search for a man’s heart not his muscle. By doing things differently you will get different results. There’s not harm in it and don’t look at it as compromising on your standards, its just in the way you are approaching those standards.

Social Media:

Is it making you feel like you are under attack? Or are you in shock at what you see online these days. But even though it’s shocking and horrifying, you are still following the same things and be-friending the same people. Clean out your news feeds, your home page, your followers and your life in general. Follow things that inspire, people that build you and maintain friendships that are authentic. Social media can either build you or bring you down and the only person that can protect you from the negative aspects is yourself and your choices. Many of us look at other people’s lifestyles on social media and get discouraged about our own lives. Please always keep in mind that people post that one random moment when everything made sense for a change and you take it as if their whole life, day in day out is like that. Its good to feel challenged and motivated to do better, but in the same breathe, live up to your own standards not what other people are trying to potray.

Hobbies

Women we are beautiful, such gentle souls but what we do with our time is most concerning. There are those who are mothers, who spend their days doing school runs and raising children that their day goes by so quickly and they haven’t managed to find time to do their own personal things. I’m really not talking to those heroes, i’m talking to those ones who have too much time on their hands and use it unproductively. Many women spend their time chatting to friends which builds up to gossip, enormous amount of time on social networks commenting on issues that do not affect them. Bottom line is, as women we find so much to complain about but when we look at the way we handle our time, you find that it’s spent mostly on stuff that’s not constructive. Substitute that 3 hours per day on social media with either exercising, reading about actual news that affects you, researching on your career and how to enhance it, looking for business plans to increase your income, learning how to cook in preparation for your future husband. You will find that the more time you invest in productive stuff you will have less to complain about, less to gossip about, less arguments with people about things that don’t concern you. Learn new hobbies is my point. Do things differently and your life will take a turn.

At the end of the day, there are no rules to life. And usually, no one has a perfect life with no complaints. But to minimise some of the frustrations we face, maybe try to do things differently. Clearly your way hasn’t worked so well over the years, therefore take a new approach. Stay beautiful superthumb

  1. Hello, and thank you for leading me here.
I would have left comments on your Home and About pages, but couldn’t see how to.
All I want to say is that I love what you are doing, and the way you are doing it.
Positive role models, normal positive role models, not superstars, are crucial in the development of young people’s belief in themselves.
    Good luck.

  2. Wise words – especially from one so young (at least you look young in your photo). If you’re not, maybe you need to add a few posts sharing your beauty secrets – lol 🙂

Seriously, I’m totally with you in your admiration of women and the need to “upgrade community.” If we’d all support each other, we could change the world. Meanwhile, those of us who already do need to also do what we can to keep the gossip and mean comments out of our consciousness.

Great suggestions. Especially liked the reminder not to compare the totality of our own situations to those of a single moment in another’s post.
